Grace Kelly Portrait
Hello and welcome to my first ever blog post, which I never thought I'd do. I've more of a terse disposition, as you may have noticed if you've had time to jump to any conclusions about my artwork. But I've been moving out of my comfort zone, gone on adventures, and generally been wearing my Big Girl Pants a lot more lately.
I've always been a wing-er rather than a planner, so I have no clue which direction this will take me in. I'm happy to take any suggestions – after all, this is for you rather than for myself. (I see you, GCSE and A level youngs, and sorry I've been elusive with biographical and artistic information online when you most needed me.)
Often, after a long series of commissions, I feel the need to return to what comes naturally to me: Golden Age Hollywood ladies serving the best ever glamour. So today's pictorial offering (top image) is a Grace Kelly portrait from her pre-royal days.
I've been wanting to redeem myself ever since my first GK portrait (bottom image) where I managed a questionable likeness at best. She has one of those faces which are surprisingly difficult to capture. Could be that some people are simply too beautiful.
This new blog format gives me the opportunity to present my latest work and let you all know how you can purchase it internationally. Print copies are available for my first Grace Kelly portrait and my latest Grace Kelly portrait. For those wanting something larger, my Grace Kelly print will be available in poster size in my Poster Lounge store.
Stunning work. The expression on her face in the older drawing is particularly arresting. Loving the new blog. More please.
