Another Grace Kelly Portrait
Sometimes, when the stars align, I get commission requests to draw my favourite faces, and I love my job so intensely, I can barely breathe.
That’s exactly what happened when D. from Monaco asked for a portrait of princess, movie star, blonde of the iciest calibre and possibly the most poised human ever to have walked this Earth: Grace Kelly.
I must have manifested Grace’s presence in my work when my boyfriend and I watched ‘Dial M for Murder’ a few months ago and, between the exquisite pacing and THAT face, I knew I had a fun job on my hands.
I used to think she was incredibly hard to capture – and, don’t get me wrong, she’s not the easiest, she has the kind of subtle features which one wrong pencil stroke could turn into another person altogether – but I’m pretty sure it was my skills which were still lacking. It took a few attempts (see my previous blog piece for earlier Grace Kelly portraits), but I know how to catch this thief now.
Thank you to my lovely customer for having chosen me for this piece, which will have a special place in her home.
Readers, as always, feel free to send me your commission requests at [email protected]; I’ll do my best to accommodate everybody and make you look like you stepped out of an Old Hollywood movie set.
Happy Valentine’s if that’s your thing, and just plain happiness sent your way if it isn’t.

Since this portrait was a commission, the original is not available to buy. However, you can still buy signed print copies of my new Grace Kelly pencil portrait.
