Nude Study vs. Censorship
It’s no secret that I find censorship of the human, and especially female body, an abomination and an absurdity.
We’ve watched social media tell us that male nipples are acceptable for public viewing and female nipples are obscene and must be hidden away.
We’ve watched people get banned from Facebook for posting Gustave Courbet’s ‘The Origin of the World.’
I’ve seen with my own eyes and felt in my soul the scrutiny and commodification of our bodies, which somehow coexists and perversely merges with censorship to augment the shame of owning a female body.
I’ve not clawed my way out of the quagmire of body negativity of the ‘90s for nothing. Do let’s own our bodies with acceptance and fondness, and give them the respect they deserve.
Somewhere, beyond the made up, silly little rule book, there is a place where nipples run free. Oh yeah, and there’s a vulva as well. Let her be free too.
